Last Friday was the last day of our German course and I am relieved because I think I won’t have to see my A-hole German teacher again. Last Monday was our exam. It’s not a compulsory exam but if you want to have a certificate showing that you did and you passed the course’s requirements, you should take it. I initially planned that after the B1 course, I will take exam for A2 (previous level) because I have a better chances of passing that one if I am already done with B1. So it’s like my certificate will be one level behind the course I just completed. I am a chicken, I know but so what?
But because there were some changes around lately, I am prompted to take the highest certificate I can get. My husband begged and cajoled me to take the exam. He told me like 10000000000000 times that I can surely pass it without a problem. I didn’t believe him but because I thought…this might be my last German course in Shanghai and I probably can’t study German further, I should have this certificate now.
There were 17 (some are from other language schools) examinees and only 8 passed it. I, along with the other examinees, waited for the results until like 8:00 pm last Monday. It was a long wait! Anyway, I am glad that I am one of those 8 examinees who made it and that I got the second highest score. The certificates will come in about three weeks but I don’t have to wait 3 weeks to have a goodnight sleep—I already know the results.
Christmas is just around and I know that plenty of us are already busy preparing for this important occasion. Have you already thought of what gifts to buy? I personally have no idea yet. I have been searching online and I did find some interesting online shopping sites but the problem is I don’t know what items to buy yet.
If any of you has particular interest in buying western clothing and accessories to give away as gifts this season, you should visit Cavenders.com because they have the widest range of western wear. You’ll find anything from western hats to cowboy belts. They are like the biggest provider of western clothing and accessories for men, women, and children. Their products are of quality material and are from popular brands like Ariat, Lucchese, Justin, and Wrangler. If it’s western stuff you look for, then it’s western stuff you see in Cavenders.com.
I met an excellent blogger just a few days ago but I won’t reveal her name just yet because, I want to write something about her after we know each other better. We started to talk after she left a comment in one of my blogs. She’s a she and she’s an excellent writer. I did enjoy reading her entries.
It still amazes me sometimes how I meet interesting people online just like that. First there’s Ruthi, then Sterndal, and now her. It’s just so cool. I think this person and I will get along well.
Last Sunday, I become a proud owner of a 3G 16GB white iPhone and I have to admit that I cannot complain about my new iPhone even though I initially wanted a Sonny Ericson Xperia. I can now understand why a lot of people go gaga over iPhone because I can personally experience how cool it is. Marcus insist that if it were his choice, he would have chose a Blackberry because he likes the feel of real keys. IPhone’s touch screen interface does not bother me in fact, I like it.The plan to read more books is now again on hold because I am too busy trying out iPhone apps and downloading music and podcasts.
Overall, I like the iPhone because of its cool features, user friendly software, and very sleek design.
Did you know that the popular tactical clothing company, LAPoliceGear.com is now offering a cool new device? The 5.11 Tactical Flashlight is a rechargeable flashlight with no batteries. How cool is that?! This tiny but powerful device is a state of the art technology for the revolutionize flashlights for the public safety market. It’s a cool gift for this Christmas so if you know a person who loves the outdoors or a person who likes cool stuff, a tactical flashlight would be a good gift to them.
Like I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I really would like to go back to reading books. I think it’s about time I lessen the time I spend sitting in front of my computer. So yesterday after our dinner in a nearby German restaurant, we dropped by this small bookstore that sells foreign language books. I was so delighted when I saw Khaled Hosseini’s “A Thousand Splendid Suns” that I took it immediately to the cashier. I read Hosseini’s first novel, “the Kite Runner” and I remember crying buckets while reading it.

I still have some books waiting on the line to be read. I also have some German books I got from my husband. He bought these to encourage my interest in the German language. But the German books can wait. First I have to read “A Thousand Splendid Suns”.
Last week, my friends and I went to check out the newly opened wellness center in our apartment block and the center is really impressive. It’s huge and it has almost everything. A gym, a ballet dance room, yoga room, ballroom, squash court, tennis tables, and a lot more but the things that impressed me most are the swimming pool and the infrared sauna. This morning, we got the chance to swim and we didn’t leave the center without trying the sauna.
For me it was really good because I felt relaxed afterwards. Taking a sauna is good because it can help people with rheumatoid arthritis, joint stiffness, low blood pressure, ulcer, high blood pressure, asthma and a lot more. This is the reason why more and more people are installing far infrared saunas in their homes. So in the future when we’ll have our own house, we will definitely install one those infrared saunas .

I bought this book a month ago and I started to read it immediately but when we left for Austria in September, I completely forgot about it. The story is interesting really so I am wondering how I could forget to continue to read it.
When we came back from Austria, I immediately got busy with my German lessons that even the books I bought from Amazon were forgotten. My ambition to learn how to design a WordPress theme is put aside. Now, I am thinking that if I don’t go back to my reading soon, I will forget everything and that is just a shame.
I should lessen my computer time and spend more time in other things like reading and photography since my blogs are not doing so well anyway.

I was furious when I came home last Friday from school. Reason is, I got into a discussion with my German teacher who, towards the end of the discussion where he was about to lose, just snapped that he is the teacher and therefore he set the rules inside the class. What an asshole.
During the break, he came towards me and asked if we could talk a little bit so I said ok. He said that he noticed that after the discussion, I was looking sooo….angry. I said I am because I was so disappointed at how he handled things. He asked me how would have I handled such thing and I simply told him; “For sure, I would have handled it in a “less-asshole” kind of way.” And I was so satisfied after I told him that because, it was also like telling him that he is indeed an asshole. So what if he fails me in the exams? It’s not like I can’t graduate or anything.
